Candidates should carefully check the post-wise eligibility requirements before applying. For Junior Engineer (Civil) posts, candidates generally need a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, with relevant experience wherever prescribed. For JE Electrical/Mechanical posts, a degree or diploma in the respective engineering discipline is required.
For JE Telecom in the Department of Telecommunications, candidates can apply with a bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology or Instrumentation-related engineering disciplines.
For Scientific Assistant in IMD, candidates need a bachelor's degree in Science with Physics or an eligible engineering degree in Computer Science, Electronics, IT or Telecommunication.
The minimum age is 18 years, while the maximum age is generally 30 years. The upper age limit is 32 years for certain posts, including posts under CPWD and the Director General of Lighthouses & Lightships. The age will be calculated as on August 1, 2026.
Age relaxation is applicable to reserved categories as per government rules. SC/ST candidates get five years, OBC candidates three years, while PwBD candidates are eligible for relaxation ranging from 10 to 15 years depending on their category.
Candidates must be Indian citizens or meet the specified nationality conditions. Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan and certain persons of Indian origin who have migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India may also be eligible, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.
For Junior Engineer posts in the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), only male candidates are eligible.
