SSC CGL 2024 : Physical Standards, Physical Tests and Medical Standards

Candidates applying for SSC CGL 2024 must ensure they meet all physical standards, physical tests, and medical standards before selecting their preferred posts or departments. These measurements and tests will be conducted by the relevant user department after the final selection and nomination of candidates by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Failure to meet these standards will result in the candidate's disqualification for the chosen post or department.

Physical Standards for Specific Posts:

Inspector (Central Excise/Examiner/Preventive Officer) & Inspector/Sub-Inspector in Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN):

Male Candidates:

Height: 157.5 cm (Relaxable by 5 cm for Garwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, and ST members)
Chest: 81 cm (minimum expansion of 5 cm)

Physical Test:

Walking: 1600 meters in 15 minutes
Cycling: 8 km in 30 minutes (not applicable for Sub-Inspector in CBN)

Female Candidates:

Height: 152 cm (Relaxable by 2.5 cm for Garwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas, and ST members)
Weight: 48 kg (Relaxable by 2 kg for the same groups)

Physical Test:

Walking: 1 km in 20 minutes
Cycling: 3 km in 25 minutes (not applicable for Sub-Inspector in CBN)

Relaxations for Disabled Candidates

Orthopedically disabled candidates are exempt from the walking and cycling tests for specific disabilities (OA, OL, OAL).

Sub-Inspector in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI):

Men:

Height: 165 cm (Relaxable by 5 cm for Hillsmen and Tribals)
Chest: 76 cm (expansion required)

Women:

Height: 150 cm (Relaxable by 5 cm for Hillsmen and Tribals)

Vision:

Distant vision: 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other
Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in the other

Sub-Inspector in National Investigation Agency (NIA):

Men:

Height: 170 cm (Relaxable by 5 cm for Hillsmen and Tribals)
Chest: 76 cm (expansion required)

Women:

Height: 150 cm (Relaxable by 5 cm for Hillsmen and Tribals)

Vision:

Distant vision: 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other
Near vision: 0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in the other

Sub-Inspector/Junior Intelligence Officer in Narcotics Control Bureau, Ministry of Home Affairs:

Men:

Height: 165 cm (Relaxable by 5 cm for Hillsmen and Tribals in specified regions)
Chest: 76 cm (unexpanded) with 5 cm expansion

Women:

Height: 152 cm (Relaxable by 5 cm for Hillsmen and Tribals in specified regions)

Vision:

Candidates must ensure they meet these criteria before opting for specific posts. The physical measurements and vision tests will be conducted by the respective departments, and only those who meet the standards will be considered for the posts. No requests for reassignment to other posts will be entertained if candidates fail to meet the physical requirements.
