SSC-CGL 2024: How to apply for 17727 Central Government Posts

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the SSC CGL Notification 2024 on June 24, 2024, on its official website, ssc.gov.in. Candidates with a graduation degree can apply from June 24 to July 24, 2024. This year, 17,727 tentative vacancies have been announced to fill positions in various organizations, departments, and offices under the Government of India.

Steps to Apply Online for SSC CGL 2024

• Online Submission

Applications must be submitted online at the SSC Headquarter's new website: https://ssc.gov.in. Detailed instructions are provided in Annexure-III and Annexure-IV. Sample proforma for One-time Registration and the online Application Form can be found in Annexure-IIIA and Annexure-IVA respectively.

• One-Time Registration (OTR)

Candidates who haven't generated their OTR on the new website (https://ssc.gov.in) are required to do so, as the previous OTR from the old website (https://ssc.nic.in) is no longer valid. Once OTR is completed on the new website, it remains valid for all future examinations. Detailed OTR instructions are in Annexure-III of the notice.

• Photograph Requirement

Candidates do not need a pre-existing photograph. The application module captures a photograph during form filling. Instructions for capturing the photograph:

1. Find a well-lit place with a plain background.
2. Ensure the camera is at eye level.
3. Position yourself directly in front of the camera and look straight ahead.
4. Ensure your face is fully inside the red rectangular area without any part outside the rectangle.
5. Do not wear a cap, mask, or glasses/spectacles.

• Photograph Guidelines

The appearance in the examination must match the application form's photograph. Ensure the photograph is clear, without cap or spectacles, and a full frontal view. Applications with non-compliant photographs will be rejected. Do not use pre-existing photographs.

• Submission Check

Before submitting, ensure the photograph is uploaded correctly. Non-compliant photographs will result in rejection of the application.

• Signature Upload

Upload a scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10 to 20 KB) with dimensions of 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height). Inappropriate or blurred signatures will lead to summary rejection.

• Deadline

The last date and time for online application submission is July 24, 2024 (23:00 hours).

• Early Submission

Submit the application well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues. The SSC is not responsible for any technical problems preventing submission near the closing date.

• Final Check

Use the Preview/Print option to check the correctness of all details before submission. Ensure the photograph and signature meet the requirements. Keep a copy of the application for your records.

Application Fee

• Fee Amount: ₹100/- (one hundred rupees only).
• Exemptions: Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM candidates eligible for reservation are exempt from the fee.
• Payment Methods: The fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit cards.
• Payment Deadline: Online fee payment can be made until July 25, 2024 (23:00 hours).
• Fee Confirmation: Candidates not exempt from the fee must ensure their payment is received by SSC. If the fee is not received, the Application Form status will show as 'Incomplete', indicated at the top of the application printout. Fee payment status can be checked through the 'Payment Status' link in the candidate's login screen. Incomplete applications due to non-receipt of fee will be summarily rejected, and no requests for consideration or late fee payment will be entertained.
• Non-refundable Fee: The fee, once paid, will not be refunded or adjusted for any other examination or selection under any circumstances.
