Sonu Sood Launches Scholarship For UPSC IAS Aspirants

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has rolled out a scholarship program for IAS aspirants. Actor cum philanthropist dedicated the new scholarship to his late mother, Prof Saroj Sood, who used to teach and assist students on a non-commercial basis. On her 13th death anniversary, Sonu Sood intends to carry the legacy of his mother and pledged to support UPSC Civil Services aspirants to achieve their goals.

Sonu Sood tweeted, "October 13; 13 years since My Mother passed. She left behind a legacy of Education. On her anniversary today, I pledge to support IAS aspirants to reach their goals thru Prof Saroj Sood Scholarships. Seeking blessings Miss u maa. @scholify_me."

Amid nation-wide lockdown due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Sonu Sood made headlines for helping migrant workers and frontline staff. The actor has helped hundreds of JEE Main and NEET students to reach their exam centre on the exam day.

Earlier, Sonu Sood was honoured with the SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for his philanthropic work during the ongoing pandemic.
