The Somaiya Innovation and Impact Festival (SIIF), slated for the 21st and 22nd of February 2025, is preparing to welcome a host of notable speakers at the Somaiya Vidyavihar University's zero-waste campus. The festival, themed around "Empowering Communities through Conversations, Collaborations and Creativity," draws inspiration from the collective success of bees. Registrations are open until the 10th of February 2025, promising a blend of the university's premier events — Maker Mela, Darwin, and Nazariya. This initiative is a collaborative effort with the Research Innovation Incubation Design Laboratory Foundation (riidl Somaiya Vidyavihar) and the Somaiya School of Design, receiving backing from the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, and the Maharashtra State Innovation Society.

The festival's agenda includes a wide array of topics ranging from sustainable living and innovation in storytelling to the latest in physiotherapy and technology. Esteemed speakers like Shantanu Deshpande of Bombay Shaving Company, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani from the Hiranandani Group, Saiwyn Quadras, and Dr. Shiva Subramaniam from Biomimicry Compass will share their insights. The event is set to offer workshops, a hackathon directed at solving Mumbai’s water crisis with Dr. Subhajit Mukherjee's guidance, and "hives" that showcase innovative startups and projects in Sustainable Fashion and Lifestyle, Wellness, XR, AI, Art, and Design.
