Solar-Powered Units Inaugurated in Educational Institutions

Domjur, March 14: West Bengal Environment Minister Sudarshan Ghosh Dastidar inaugurated a solar power supply here in Howrah district.

Dastidar, who was present at Domjur Goluhati High School which was also illuminated with the solar power project, said altogether 80 educational institutes and 20 primary health centres in different parts of state would come up under the scheme now.

Dastidar said R & D woork was being done by his department to chalk out ways to stop air pollution by motorised cycle vans plying in villages.

The minister said 500 solar projects would be taken up in the state in next financial year where schools and public health centres would be included.
