SGT University Establishes UDAAN For Special Education Advancement

SGT University Launches UDAAN For Special Education

In an effort to promote inclusivity and overall well-being, the Faculty of Physiotherapy at SGT University organized the 'Healthy Athlete Screening’ event, which saw the participation of over 300 special children from 20 distinct special schools. The event featured a series of sports activities tailored for these children, including sprint races and the bocce event, which are part of the Special Olympics. This initiative not only sought to integrate these children into sports but also aimed at enhancing their physical and emotional well-being.

Furthermore, SGT University has forged a partnership with Special Olympics Bharat (SOB) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration is focused on providing physiotherapeutic services and educational support to special students, highlighting the university's dedication to improving care and educational opportunities for this demographic. Dr. Malaika Nadda, President of SOB, praised SGT University for its inclusive efforts and expressed hope for future collaborative endeavors.

The launch of UDAAN and the collaboration with Special Olympics Bharat signify SGT University’s commitment to inclusivity and the provision of quality education and care to children with special needs. The center is designed to not only offer specialized therapeutic services but also to prepare students for societal integration by equipping them with necessary life skills.
