Kids at Banyan and engineers from ServiceMax
It was mutual excitement between the kids at Banyan and engineers from ServiceMax, when the team of 60 software engineers returned for another day of fun with the children from the Banyan School. The Banyan School, run by the Lovedale foundation contributes to holistic education, comprehensive community welfare programs, interactive sessions to underprivileged children in suburban Bangalore, thus empowering them to become responsible members of the society.

The event was led by SVP of Engineering, Vivian Wong along with her leadership team from US and India. This quarterly initiative of giving back to the community was marked by the dedicated software engineers meeting 300 kids at the school, with an aim to spread a smile and make education fun. Vineet Bhaskar, the head of Engineering,India mentioned that this experience was truly rewarding as well as a humbling one for the entire team.
Learning was made fun
The event was kicked off with the inauguration of the sales area for crafts created by the kids. Learning was made fun, easy, highly interactive and informative. The volunteers conducted interactive sessions like computer education, number games, concepts of the solar system, identification of alphabets, colours, animals and creating clay models. Adding to the fun quotient were some fun activities like face-painting, and organized magic shows. The event was followed by lunch, yummy snacks and gifts for all the 300 kids aged between 4 to 17.
Empowering through education
Addressing the initiative Stacey Epstein, Chief Marketing Officer for ServiceMax said "Empowering through education is one of the most crucial aspects that shape an individual. This is our effort and contribution for the children thus gifting them a day of joy & learning. We are delighted to be here today and meet the enthusiastic fun loving kids of Banyan and spend a great day with them".
