Seminar to promote higher education research opportunities in Japan 2017

What is the Seminar all about?
The ministry of Education, Science, Culture, Sports and Technology of Japan along with Punjab university (PU), Chandigarh, organised a seminar on the topic "Higher Education and Research in Japan -2017" which was held at PU's physics auditorium on Monday.


The seminar showcases the diverse and innovative research that they are undertaking and is a great opportunity for research masters' students.The seminar covered a broad range of topics.

Who took part in the Seminar event?
The Ritsumeikan University and the University of Tokyo participated in the seminar. The Embassy of Japan were also present at the event.

The students were told by Daisue Kodama, First secretary of Embassy of Japan in New Delhi that the Japanese universities are extremely welcoming towards international students and students from India.

How is the Sponsorship offered for students?
The First secretary of Embassy of Japan initiated guidelines to help Indian students get enrolled in post-graduate and integrated research programmes and also discussed the scholarship availability for Indian students which are sponsored by the local and government entities.

What are the opportunities available for students to excel in their research career?
The Japanese delegate Hiroshi Yoshino, Director, the University of Tokyo, India office spoke about research options available in various fields which included robotic, aerospace, physics and chemistry and high-speed railways.

To make this event successful, Shozo Kitamura, Director Ritsumeikan India office thanked the students, Dean International students, academic staff especially Professors and Dean student's welfare.
