The National Teachers' Awards 2024, organized by the Ministry of Education, is now open for online self-nominations from qualified teachers. Those interested can submit their nominations on the ministry's website; The Ministry of Education has begun accepting online self-nominations from eligible teachers for the National Teachers' Awards 2024. Nominations can be submitted on the ministry's portal; nationalawardstoteachers.education.gov.in, until 15 July 2024.

This year, 50 teachers will be chosen through a three-stage selection process at the district, state, and national levels. The President of India will present the awards on 5 September 2024 at a ceremony in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Eligibility and Purpose of the Awards:

Teachers and school heads working in recognized primary, middle, high, and higher secondary schools run by state governments, UT administrations, local bodies, and private schools affiliated with state/UT boards are eligible for the award. Central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), Sainik Schools run by the Ministry of Defence (MoD), schools run by Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES), Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) run by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and schools affiliated with CBSE and CISCE are also eligible.

The Department of School Education & Literacy organizes a national-level function on Teachers Day (5 September) each year to confer these awards. The aim is to celebrate the unique contributions of exceptional teachers in India and honor those who have improved school education quality and enriched their students' lives through dedication and hard work. until 15 July 2024. The selection process will involve three stages at the district, state, and national levels, with 50 teachers set to be honored this year.

The prestigious awards will be presented by the President of India on 5 September 2024 during a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
