The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the recruitment of 7,680 Junior Associate posts in the clerical cadre. The bank has published the recruitment advertisement on its official website, inviting eligible candidates to apply for the vacancies.

The SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 online application process begins on August 11, 2026, and candidates can submit their applications until August 31, 2026. Along with the 7,680 regular vacancies, SBI has also notified 1,444 backlog vacancies under the recruitment drive.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026: Who Can Apply?

Candidates applying for the SBI Junior Associate posts must be 20 to 28 years of age as on April 1, 2026. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be available to candidates belonging to eligible reserved and other categories as per SBI rules.

Applicants must also possess a graduation degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

Candidates who are currently in the final year of their graduation programme can also apply. However, if selected, they must produce proof of having passed their graduation examination by December 31, 2026.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026: Local Language Requirement

Candidates can apply for vacancies in only one State or Union Territory under this recruitment drive. Applicants must also have proficiency in the specified local language of the State or UT for which they are applying.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026: Application Fee

The application fee for candidates belonging to the General, OBC and EWS categories is Rs 750.

Candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and Disabled Ex-Servicemen/Dependents of Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from paying the application fee.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026: Selection Process

The recruitment process is expected to comprise a Preliminary Examination followed by the Main Examination. Candidates who qualify through the prescribed stages will have to fulfil the applicable requirements, including the local language proficiency criteria.

The Preliminary Examination is tentatively scheduled for September 2026, while the Main Examination is expected to be conducted in November 2026.
