This year, the job offers at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) is unusually high.
Around 6 students of IIT Delhi has got a job offer from Samsung, Korea at an annual package of Rs 92 lakh per head. These students had interned at Samsung.

"The number of offers per company is likely to be higher as the conversion from internship to jobs has been high this year," says Shivansh Aggarwal, head of IIT-Delhi's Student Affairs Council. [Google offers Rs 1.4 crore job to BITS Pilani, Goa student]
Most of the job offers will be from technical, banks and consultancies, called on the day of placements.
"The core companies are the technical ones and usually they can't match the packages offered by the finance and consultancy sector. Many students getaway from the technical field. We can't stop students from accepting, and there may be family pressure. But we do call core companies on day-one," says dean, students' affairs, SK Gupta.
