“Saarang 2015” Annual Cultural Festival of IIT Madras

Saarang is the annual cultural festival of IIT Madras, the biggest of its kind in India. It has been witnessing a footfall of over 50,000 since the last few editions. ISO certified (ISO 9001:2008) and attracting a demographic diversity that few can boast of, Saarang remains an unrivalled platform for showcasing the energy and creativity of the youth and hence the best place to market your clients' company.

Saarang 2015 is happening in the second week of January and will witness over 50 Events, 20 Workshops, 5 Professional shows and a series of well acclaimed lectures and video conferences. Saarang has been the stage for popular performers like Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Sonu Niigaam, Kay Kay, Shaan and Zakir Hussain and also for internationally recognised bands like Opeth and Hammerfall.

Classic Night

Come, witness the stalwarts of Indian Classical Arts inaugurate Saarang 2015 on the star-studded opening night. Presenting to you Padma Shri Aruna Sairam and Smt. Shobana Chandrakumar for the Classical Night of Saarang 2015. Entry is free for all.

Choreo Nite

Rock Show

Saarang, IIT Madras brings to you, Karnivool one of the pioneering bands of the Australian progressive rock and metal movement at The Rock Show, on the 10th January, 2015 brought to you by The Times of India.

Their style of music can be classified as both progressive rock and alternative rock, with alternative metal undertones. Good drumming, clean vocals, clean, powerful and aggressive guitar riffs makes the crowd sing along and makes for a unique experience in all their live shows.

Be there, this is definitely going to be out of the world!

Popular Night

Saarang 2015 brings you the versatile, the stunning, the one and only Sunidhi Chauhan.

Her musical abilities surpass all boundaries, with hit songs in more than 10 languages. Sunidhi's angelic voice has resounded through the chambers of Bollywood and several other film industries for over a decade now. With songs like "Sheila Ki Jawani", "Munni Badnaam Hui' and "Kamli Kamli" she is one of the best live acts.

Watch her explosive performance at The Popular Night on 11th January at OAT IIT Madras.

It has also witnessed the likes of Kamal Haasan, Gautham Menon and Arun Shourie. Saarang features a variety of events and competitions spread over five days. It is a cultural extravaganza like none other. Saarang 2015 promises to be bigger and better with the arrival of the internationally recognized "Karnivool" for the rock show and "Sunidhi Chauhan" for the popular night.
