The notification, issued on August 1, 2025, is part of the Act Apprenticeship training program under the Apprentices Act 1961, offering job aspirants an opportunity to receive structured training and possibly secure future employment in Indian Railways.

Vacancy Details by Division

The 3,115 vacancies are distributed across several divisions:

• Howrah Division
• Sealdah Division
• Asansol Division
• Malda Division
• Liluah Workshop
• Kanchrapara Workshop
• Jamalpur Workshop

Each division has a variety of trades, including fitter, electrician, welder, machinist, carpenter, painter, and others. Trade-specific vacancy lists are available in the official PDF.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• Must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
• Must possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from a recognized NCVT/SCVT institute.

Age Limit (as on cutoff date mentioned in notification):

• Minimum: 15 years
• Maximum: 24 years

Age relaxation:

• SC/ST - 5 years
• OBC - 3 years
• PwD - 10 years

• General/OBC/EWS: ₹100
• SC/ST/PwBD/Female: No fee

Selection Process

There will be no written test or interview. Selection is based purely on merit calculated using:

• Marks obtained in Class 10 (with minimum 50%)
• ITI marks in the relevant trade
