RRB ALP Exam 2026 Schedule Out for CBT 1: Check Exam and Admit Card Dates

The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have announced the RRB Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) CBT 1 exam schedule 2026 for candidates registered under CEN No. 01/2026. The first-stage Computer Based Test is tentatively scheduled to be conducted on November 3, 4 and 5, 2026. The recruitment is being conducted for 11,127 Assistant Loco Pilot vacancies.

RRB ALP CBT 1 Exam Pattern 2026

The first-stage CBT will be a screening examination for shortlisting candidates for the next stage. The paper will contain 75 objective-type questions for 75 marks and the examination duration will be 60 minutes.

There will be negative marking of one-third mark for every incorrect answer. The minimum qualifying percentages are 40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC (NCL) and SC, and 25% for ST candidates.

The CBT 1 syllabus covers subjects including Mathematics, Mental Ability, General Science and General Awareness/Current Affairs, as prescribed for the recruitment.

RRB ALP CBT 1 Screening and Shortlisting

CBT 1 is intended only for screening and shortlisting candidates for CBT 2. Shortlisting is based on candidates' normalised marks and merit among applicants who have selected the same RRB.

Importantly, the marks obtained in CBT 1 will not be counted for preparing the final selection panel. The final panel for ALP is prepared using marks and merit from the subsequent stages, including CBT 2 and the Computer-Based Aptitude Test where applicable.

RRB ALP City Intimation Slip 2026

The RRB ALP Exam City and Date Intimation Slip will be made available approximately 10 days before the candidate's examination date. It will provide advance information about the allotted city and examination date and, where applicable, the shift details.

Candidates should note that the city intimation slip is not the e-call letter. RRB will subsequently activate the e-call letter download facility approximately four days before the candidate's allotted examination date.

RRB ALP Admit Card 2026

The RRB ALP CBT 1 admit card/e-call letter will be available approximately four days before the examination date mentioned in the city and date intimation. No physical call letter will be sent by post.

The e-call letter will contain important information such as the examination centre, reporting time and exam-day instructions. Eligible SC/ST candidates who are entitled to free rail travel will also receive the applicable travel authority through the prescribed e-call-letter process.
