RMS CET 2026 Registration Begins at exams.nta.nic.in: Check Dates, Eligibility and Fee

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for the Rashtriya Military School Common Entrance Test (RMS CET) 2026 for admission to Classes VI and IX for the academic session 2027-28. Interested candidates can submit their applications through the official RMS CET portal at exams.nta.nic.in/rmscet/.

RMS CET 2026 Registration Begins from Today

The online application window opened on September 23, 2026 and will remain available until October 20, 2026, up to 5 PM.

The RMS CET 2026 written examination is scheduled to be conducted on December 13, 2026. The entrance test will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode using OMR sheets.

RMS CET 2026 Important Dates

Candidates should keep track of the application and examination deadlines to complete the admission process on time.

The application fee during the late submission period includes an additional ₹500 late fee.

RMS CET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

For Class VI admission, candidates must have passed Class V or be studying in Class V and should pass the class before admission to Rashtriya Military School. For Class IX admission, candidates must have passed Class VIII from a government-recognised or recognised school before the date of admission. English is the medium of instruction in Rashtriya Military Schools, and candidates are therefore expected to preferably have knowledge of English.

RMS CET 2026 Age Limit

Candidates applying for Class VI should be 10 to 13 years old as on March 31, 2027, with a date of birth between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2017, both days inclusive.

For Class IX, candidates should be 13 to 16 years old as on March 31, 2027, with a date of birth between April 1, 2011 and March 31, 2014, both days inclusive. A six-month relaxation in the upper age limit is available for wards of personnel killed in action.

RMS CET 2026 Application Fee

The examination fee is ₹1,000 for General, OBC and OBC-NCL candidates. SC, ST and wards of Armed Forces personnel killed in action (KIA) candidates are required to pay ₹750. A late fee of ₹500 is applicable during the late application period.

Candidates can complete the RMS CET application through the official NTA portal by following these steps:

1. Visit exams.nta.nic.in/rmscet/.

2. Open the RMS CET 2026 Online Application link.

3. Register using the required candidate details.

4. Fill in the personal, academic and other information.

5. Upload the required documents and photograph as instructed.

6. Pay the applicable examination fee online.

7. Review the application form carefully.

8. Submit the form and save the confirmation details.

Rashtriya Military Schools are English-medium residential schools under the Ministry of Defence, with five schools located at Chail, Ajmer, Dholpur, Belgaum and Bengaluru. Admission to Classes VI and IX is through the RMS CET, followed by subsequent selection stages including medical examination and interview.
