The all India Law entrance examination, Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) may go online from 2015.
RML National Law University, Lucknow will be the conducting body for CLAT 2015. Considering the paperless test, university has decided to conduct CLAT exam online.
"We propose to go completely online, right from application stage to counselling. Online exam will ensure that it is hassle-free. It's time we went global and adopted technological advances,'' said RMLNLU vice-chancellor Gurdip Singh said.
"We have viewed presentations from agencies like Prometric and TCS. We are yet to hear from Pearson, another agency to be considered for conducting the online exam,'' Singh said.
The final decision on conducting the examination online will be decided by the core committee members.
A total of 1,600 seats are available for admission in national law universities across India.
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted for 14 National Law Schools / Universities for admissions to their undergraduate and Postgraduate degree programmes (LL.B and LL.M).
