BookMyShow has unveiled plans for the second edition of the Red Lorry Film Festival, promising an enriched cinematic journey with nearly 120 titles. Scheduled to take place in Mumbai and Hyderabad from March 21 to March 23, the festival aims to surpass its inaugural year, which saw 75 titles over three days. This enhancement not only marks an increase in the number of films but also introduces a series of masterclasses and fireside chats from industry stalwarts, including Guneet Monga, Siddharth Roy Kapur, and Akarsh Khurana, among others.

The festival, a celebration of global cinema's ability to connect people, moves beyond mere screenings to offer a platform for engaging discussions on filmmaking. Ashish Saksena, COO – Cinemas of BookMyShow, emphasized the event's role in uniting audiences through the universal power of cinema. He highlighted the expansion to Hyderabad and the festival's return to Mumbai as steps towards providing a more immersive experience, including exclusive masterclasses and fireside chats. These sessions will delve into various aspects of the art of filmmaking, offering attendees deeper insights into the creative process.

Notably, the addition of masterclasses and intimate discussions with key figures in the film industry, such as Sooni Taraporevala and Anjum Rajabali, is poised to enrich the festival experience. These interactive sessions aim to give film enthusiasts a closer look at the intricacies of storytelling and the creative challenges filmmakers face. This approach not only broadens the festival's appeal but also fosters a deeper appreciation for the craft of cinema.
Saksena further elaborated on the festival's vision, describing it as "more than just a film festival." He underscored its role as a gateway to global cinema, designed to connect movie lovers with the stories and storytellers behind the screen. This initiative by BookAChange and the BookMyShow Foundation seeks to offer a meaningful experience that goes beyond passive viewing, enabling attendees to engage with films and their creators on a personal level.
