Ram Mandir inauguration; UP schools, colleges will be closed on Jan 22

On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the closure of all schools and colleges in the state on January 22 in anticipation of the Ram Temple inauguration.

Alongside the holiday declaration for educational institutions, the Chief Minister stated that the sale of liquor would be prohibited throughout the state on the day of the inauguration ceremony.

Adityanath also called for the adornment of all government buildings on January 22 and arranged for fireworks to mark the celebratory event. While in Ayodhya to oversee preparations for the ceremony, he directed the implementation of the 'Kumbh Model' of cleanliness in Ayodhya. The commencement of a cleanliness campaign in Ayodhya on January 14 was announced, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a clean and hygienic city during the preparations for the consecration ceremony. Additionally, he instructed officials to pre-determine resting places for VVIPs, ensuring a smooth and organized flow of the ceremony.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with numerous chief ministers from NDA-ruled states and over 6,000 individuals, is slated to participate in the Ayodhya ceremony. The cabinet has also approved the augmentation of financial and administrative powers for three development councils catering to the Mising, Rabha Hasong, and Tiwa communities.
