The Rajasthan Government has decided to cancel the Class 10th and Class 12th board exams 2021 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Minister of School Education Govind Singh Dotasra has confirmed that the RBSE board exams 2021 were cancelled in the interest of students. The Government has decided to promote the students based on the internal assessment. The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) is likely to release the new marking scheme soon.

Minister of School Education Govind Singh Dotasra tweeted, "In view of the apprehensions of the third wave of Coronavirus, it has been decided to cancel the class 10 and 12 board examinations of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education in the meeting of Rajasthan Council of Ministers today in the interest of students. A decision regarding marking will be taken soon."

In April, Rajasthan Government has decided to postpone the Class 12 and Class 10 board exams scheduled in May amid a surge in COVID-19 cases. Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot has taken the decision after charging the high-level meeting. The government has also promoted students of Class 8, 9 and 11 to the next grade without exams.
On June 1, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting and decided to cancel the CBSE Class 12th exams considering the health and safety of students.
Modi tweeted, "Government of India has decided to cancel the Class XII CBSE Board Exams. After extensive consultations, we have taken a decision that is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth."

Many states have started cancelling the Class 12th board exams after the Centre's decision to scrap CBSE and CISCE board exams. Some of the other states that have cancelled the Class 12th board exams are Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
