Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a list of railway job openings organised by different zones and types of posts. The number of available positions are 2,48,895.

Railway vacancies are available in all groups, including A, B, and C. There are a total of 2,48,895 vacancies across all zones for Group C posts. Additionally, there are also vacant positions in Group A and B posts with a count of 2070. A total of 1,28,349 candidates have been enlisted (up to June30th) for Group 'C' posts (excluding Level-1) against notifications. Another set of candidates amounting to the count of1 ,47 ,280 have been enlisted for Level-1 posts against notifications.
Direct recruitment to Group 'A' Services on Indian Railways is mainly done by UPSC. The indent for this recruitment is placed on UPSC and DoPT, as mentioned by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in a written reply to Rajya Sabha. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria, including character and antecedent verification, are offered appointments based on the shared information.
