Rail University At Gujarat Opens First Batch On Teacher's Day

National Rail and Transport University has opened admissions. If you have a 55% minimum score, you are eligible to apply for one of its many courses.

India's first Rail University in Gujarat has opened admissions for its first bactch of students. The varsity had set a cut-off percentage of 55% for admitting students. India's dream to set up a Rail University now becomes a vision. The Indian Railways will serve as an experiential laboratory for NRTI students.

The National Rail and Transport University (NRTU) is seen as a big boost for the Indian Railways. The admission process commenced on May 30, 2018 and has seen 3500 students enrol on the first day. The classes for the founding undergraduate batch have begun from Sep 5, 2018, which is Teacher's Day. According to official sources, the debut courses were likely to see around 10000 applications this year by the end of June.

NRTU Rail University Admissions Open In 2018

The first batch of students will be admitted in the National Rail and Transport University by Sep 5, 2018.

Advantages Of The Creation Of A Rail University In India

The first of its kind university will create employment and also improve productivity, a government official said.
It is also aimed at providing employment for the youth as it would help in the upgrading of skill.

Act To Construct Rail University

The Railway Ministry said that not-for-profit company under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, will be created by the ministry of railways which shall be the managing company of the proposed university.

Land To Construct Rail University

"Existing land and infrastructure at National Academy of Indian Railways at Vadodara will be utilised, and suitably modified and modernised for the purpose of the university."

Number Of Seats

The total number of seats in the University are available for 100 full-time students. The funding of the new university/institute is to entirely come from the Ministry, the government further said.

Technologies Used For Learning

The university plans to use latest pedagogy and technology applications such as satellite-based tracking, radio frequency identification and artificial intelligence to improve on-the-job performance and productivity, it is learnt.
