QS Asia University Rankings 2023, IIT Bombay At Top In South Asia

The London-based QS, Quacquarelli Symonds, which publishes the highly regarded QS World University Rankings as well as several regional and subject rankings, has a regional division called QS Asia. Several factors, including the number of employees with PhDs and the proportion of international students, are used to determine the QS ranking for 2023. This year's university rating list includes 760 institutions from Asia.

QS Asia University Rankings 2023, IIT Bombay Tops

A significant accomplishment was the inclusion of 19 Indian universities in the top 200 list of the QS Asia Universities Ranking 2023, which was published on Tuesday. By placing 40th in the QS Asia Universities Ranking, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has maintained its top position in the nation and South Asia.

Remarkably, this represents the greatest number of Indian universities ever made to this list. 8 of the 19 colleges have seen considerable increases in their rankings during the previous year. According to the official announcement, in India, several state universities and technical institutes have achieved good positions. IIT Bombay was the best this year and was ranked 40th overall.

Every year, the top universities in Asia are highlighted by the QS Asia University Rankings. The rankings are based on 11 factors, including the faculty-to-student ratio, employer reputation, and global research network, among others.

IIT Bombay had slipped from the 37th to the 42nd spot in the Asian rankings by 2022. However, in 2022 and 2023, the same number of universities were included in the ranking. In the QS Asia 2022 rankings, Peking University came in second and was placed first this year.

Institutes From Different Countries

The list includes 118 institutes from India, 128 from China, 106 from Japan, and 88 from South Korea. Peking University in China headed the top 10 Asian universities ranking. The number of institutions in the 15th edition of the QS World University Rankings: Asia has increased from 687 to 757, making it the largest ranking for the area to date.
