All schools in Punjab will be closed until August 26 because of heavy rainfall. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has announced that this decision applies to all government, aided, recognised, and private schools due to the heavy rains and resulting floods.

Many areas in Punjab experienced intense rainfall on Wednesday, causing flooding and waterlogging in numerous roads and low-lying regions. The heavy downpour has disrupted daily activities and normalcy.
The Punjab government has decided to close schools as a precautionary step to protect the safety of students and staff. Severe rainfall can cause hazardous conditions such as flooding, waterlogging, and landslides. By keeping schools shut until the situation gets better, authorities are giving importance to the welfare of all individuals concerned.
