Who is the girl who wrote letter to the PM for educational loan?

The girl is Bibi Sara, a MBA student who had earlier applied to Central Bank of India seeking an education loan. Her family had a financial crunch since her father had not received a salary for eight months and she was in immediate need of money to pay the course fees.

Why did the bank deny educational loan for Bibi Sara?

Due to a rule in the bank, it rejected her application and denied granting any loans until the previous ones had been repaid.

What did Bibi Sara write to PM Modi?

Since her loan application was rejected, Bibi Sara made up her mind to write to the Prime Minister and recalled his 'Beti bachao, beti padhao' initiative, asking if he would be willing to help a daughter who wants to study.

Speedy Redressal

In ten days' time, PM Modi's letter answering Sara's request arrived and she was granted a loan by Vijaya Bank for her studies the same day.

What was the bank's response to the PMO letter?

Kshema Kumar, senior manager at Vijaya Bank's Mandya branch said, "Bibi Sara's father came to us with the PMO letter. We checked their background and saw they were eligible for the education loan. So we sanctioned it."
