one crore of VTU funds misused by K Balaveera Reddy: H Maheshappa

Blaming the Former Vice-Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), K Balaveera Reddy, that he has misused the funds of one crore, said H Maheshappa.

Present VTU Vice-Chancellor H Maheshappa said, "When was in the charge of Vice-Chancellor to VTU, misappropriated the finds of the university about one crore rupees."

Recently, one the media channel had published the news on VTU titled "VTU Functioning without Finance Officer". Reacting to that report VC said, "I was surprised to see former V-C Prof Balaveera Reddy's reaction. I just want to ask him about the misappropriation of funds up to Rs 1 crore when he was the V-C though there was a full-time Finance Officer."

He also said, "I will be the happiest person if the government appoints a Finance Officer tomorrow itself."

Reddy had said, "I brought this (the lack of Finance Officer) to the notice of the Principal Secretary of Higher Education Department, but no action has been initiated."

H Maheshappa angrily asked, "Who will be responsible for any of the misappropriation of funds happens."

"We should have to take more responsible on the university funds in future", VC said.
