Although over 6 lakh students appeared for the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations in more than 2,737 centres across Odisha, the examination went on quite smoothly.
On the 1st day, about 367 malpractice cases were reported from various centres.
The cases of malpractice were independent of mass copying in any centre, as stated by the authorities of Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha.
DP Nanda, President of BSE said, "All the detected cases were individual. The first day of the exams has passed smoothly without any major untoward incident."
More than 52 Central squads and 75 district-level squads are deployed by the BSE to conduct surprise raids on centres during the exam. CCTV surveillance is deployed in sensitive centres. At many centres video recording of examinations is being carried out.
