NWR Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Apply Online for 2,008 Apprentice Posts

The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), North Western Railway (NWR), Jaipur has released the detailed notification for engagement of 2,008 Act Apprentices for the 2026-27 training year. The recruitment has been announced under Notice No. 04/2026 (NWR/AA).

The online application process will begin on October 7, 2026, and eligible candidates can apply through rrcjaipur.in until November 6, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

The apprentices will be engaged under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in designated trades across North Western Railway divisions and workshops. Candidates should note that this is an apprenticeship training opportunity and not a direct permanent Railway job. Completion of training does not automatically provide a right to employment in the Railways.

NWR Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Vacancy Details

The 2,008 training slots are distributed across eight divisions and units of North Western Railway. These include the DRM offices of Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur and Jodhpur, along with B.T.C. Carriage, Ajmer; B.T.C. Loco, Ajmer; Carriage Works Shop, Bikaner; and Carriage Works Shop, Jodhpur. The largest allocation is at DRM Office, Jaipur, with 580 slots, followed by Bikaner with 524 and Ajmer with 500.

The notified trades include Electrician, Fitter, Carpenter, Painter, Mason, Pipe Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, Welder, Electronics Mechanic, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Turner/Machinist, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Blacksmith, subject to availability in the selected unit.

NWR Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Eligibility

Applicants must have passed Class 10 or its equivalent under the 10+2 system with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised board. No rounding off is permitted for the prescribed 50% requirement. Candidates must also hold a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant notified trade issued by NCVT or SCVT.

The candidate should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years as on November 6, 2026. The upper age limit is relaxable by five years for SC/ST candidates, three years for OBC candidates and 10 years for PwBD candidates, subject to the conditions in the notification.

NWR Apprentice Selection Process

There is no written examination for this apprenticeship engagement. Selection is based on a merit list prepared from the candidate's Class 10 and ITI marks. The panel is prepared using the simple average of the percentage obtained in matriculation and the percentage recorded in the ITI certificate. Separate merit lists are prepared division/unit-wise, trade-wise and community-wise.

Shortlisted candidates are required to undergo document verification and medical examination. Candidates can select only one unit, so they should check the availability of their ITI trade before making the final choice.

NWR Apprentice Recruitment 2026: Application Fee

The application fee is ₹100 for candidates other than the exempted categories. SC, ST, PwBD and women candidates are exempted from payment of the fee. The payment is made online through the payment gateway integrated with the application process.
