Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has extended the Class 9 lateral-entry application deadline to October 15, 2026. How to apply on CBSE‑ITMS portal for NVS Class 9 lateral entry

Visit the CBSE‑ITMS Class IX portal and select Register. Enter state, district of residence and study, Aadhaar, and Academic Performance and Assessment Record (APAAR) or Permanent Education Number (PEN). Choose examination language and category carefully, then review block‑eligibility links where relevant. Upload a photo and both signatures in JPG, 10–100 kb, submit, note the registration number, and print.

NVS Class 9 lateral entry exam pattern and key topics

The paper has 100 objective questions across Mathematics, General Science, English and Hindi. Duration is two and a half hours with Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets. Medium is English or Hindi. Candidates must qualify in all subjects; merit uses Mathematics, Science, and the better language score. No negative marking applies. Focus revision on Class VIII concepts.

Reservation, rural quota and domicile rules for NVS Class 9
