The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published its tentative exam calendar covering December 2026 to March 2027. The schedule provides an advance view of several major national-level entrance and eligibility examinations, including UGC NET, JEE Main 2027 Session 1, CUET PG, CMAT, NIFT Entrance Examination and Joint CSIR UGC NET.

According to NTA, the calendar is intended to give candidates and educational institutions greater clarity about the proposed examination timeline and help them organise their academic and preparation plans. However, the dates mentioned in the calendar are tentative and may be changed because of administrative requirements, academic considerations, logistical issues, statutory requirements or unforeseen circumstances.
The December 2026 schedule includes five major examinations. The UGC NET December 2026 cycle is proposed from December 14 to 19, with December 20 and 21 kept as buffer dates. The Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2026 cycle is scheduled for December 20 and 21.

The JEE Main 2027 Session 1 examination is proposed to be conducted on January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 and 30, 2027, with January 31 reserved as a buffer date. NTA is expected to issue a separate information bulletin containing details about registration, eligibility, examination cities and other requirements.
Students preparing for JEE Main should note that the calendar currently provides the examination dates; the detailed application schedule will be announced separately.
Several other important examinations are scheduled for January 2027.
The NIFT Entrance Examination and SHRESHTA (NETS) are proposed for January 10, 2027, while the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) is scheduled for January 31, 2027. JEE Main Session 1 will take place across the six announced examination days during the month.

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG) 2027 is proposed to be conducted across multiple dates in March. According to the NTA calendar, the examination is scheduled for March 1-5, March 8-20 and March 24-25, 2027, with March 30 and 31 kept as buffer dates. NITTT Part 2 is proposed for March 5 and 7.

NTA has clarified that the examination calendar contains tentative dates only. The schedule can change because of administrative, academic, statutory, logistical or unforeseen circumstances.
The publication of the calendar does not itself constitute the notification for any individual examination. NTA will issue separate examination-specific information bulletins and public notices with details such as application dates, eligibility, syllabus, examination pattern, city intimation, admit cards, answer keys and results.
