The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), India's premier public sector enterprise into the generation of nuclear power for electricity has invited online applications for filling 162 vacancies to the posts of Stipendiary Trainees/Scientific Assistants - Category-I, Scientific Assistant/B & Stipendiary Trainees/Technicians - Category-II by 31 January 2019 before 4:00 pm.

The recruitment is under various Trades/Disciplines comprising Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Electronics, Chemistry, Civil, Plant Operator, Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Welder, Machinist and Diesel Mechanic at the Kakrapar unit of the nuclear power plant in Gujarat.

Age Criteria Under Different Trades

Desirous candidates seeking application as Stipendiary Trainees/Scientific Assistants (ST/SA) (Category-I) under Trades - Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical and Chemistry must be 18 years of age and not exceeded 25 as on 31 January 2019.

Applicants applying for the post of Scientific Assistant/B and Stipendiary Trainees/ Technicians (ST/TM) (Category II) under Civil and Plant Operator Trades must be 18 years of age and not exceeded 30 as on 31 January 2019.

Candidates applying for the post of Stipendiary Trainees/Technician (ST/TM) (Category II) - under Trades - Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Welder, Machinist and Diesel Mechanic must be 18 years of age and not exceeded 24 as on 31 January 2019.

Educational Criteria

  • Candidates applying as Stipendiary Trainees/Scientific Assistants under Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics and Chemical Trades must hold a Diploma (3 years) in Engineering in the relevant trades with minimum 60% marks after SSC/HSC or must have a 2-year Diploma in engineering in the relevant trade duly approved by AICTE with at least 60% or above marks, and must have studied English as one of the subjects at the SSC or HSC level.
  • Candidates applying as Stipendiary Trainees/Scientific Assistants under Chemistry as a Trade must be a B.Sc graduate in Chemistry as the principal subject and Mathematics/Physics/Electronics & Computer Science and Statistics as subsidiary with at least 60% marks, and must have studied English as one of the subjects at the SSC or HSC level.
  • Candidates applying as Scientific Assistant/B under Civil Trade must hold a Diploma (3 years) in Civil Engineering and must have studied English as one of the subjects at the SSC or HSC level.
  • Candidates applying as Stipendiary Trainees/Technicians (ST/TM)(Category II) under Plant Operator trade must have done their HSC (10+2) or ISC (with Science subjects) with minimum 50% marks in Mathematics and Science, and must have studied English as one of the subjects at the SSC level.
  • Candidates applying as Stipendiary Trainees/Technicians (ST/TM) (Category II) - under Maintainer trades - Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Welder, Machinist and Diesel Mechanic must have completed SSC with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and Science subjects individually along with a 2-year ITI course in the above trade. He/she must have studied English as one of the subjects at the SSC level.

Selection And Pay

The selection of candidates as Stipendiary Trainees, Scientific Assistants and Technicians under various Trades/Disciplines will be based on written examination as prescribed and personal interview.

Candidates selected as Stipendiary Trainees/Scientific Assistants Category-I will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 16,000/- pm (1st Year) and Rs. 18,000 pm in (2nd year); and those selected as Stipendiary Trainees/Technicians Category-II will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 10,500/- pm (1st Year) and Rs. 12,500 pm in (2nd year).
