NOTIFICATION OF UPSC PRELIMS SCHOLARSHIP EXAM- 2023: Qualification, Important dates and procedure to apply

In the Budget Speech 2023 - 2024 of Tamil Nadu, it has been announced that Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) will implement a scheme in coordination with Anna Administrative Staff College to help civil services aspirants to access better coaching facilities and materials to reverse the declining number of Students from Tamil Nadu clearing UPSC Civil Services Exam. Under this Scheme, every year 1,000 civil services aspirants will be shortlisted through a screening test. Each aspirant will be provided Rs.7,500 per month for 10 months to prepare for the preliminary examination.

What is CM Naan Mudhalvan Scheme?

'Naan Mudhalvan' is a visionary initiative launched by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, designed to shape a brighter future for the State. As part of this transformative program, the Naan Mudhalvan Competitive Exams Vertical was established with a primary focus on empowering the Youth of Tamil Nadu to excel in competitive exams conducted by Union Government recruitment agencies.

Through comprehensive training and dedicated assistance, this vertical aims to equip young individuals with the skills and resources they need to succeed in these demanding exams and increase the proportion of Tamil Nadu Candidates in Union Government Services.

NOTIFICATION: NAAN MUDHALVAN UPSC PRELIMS SCHOLARSHIP EXAM 2023

TNSDC under its Naan Mudhalvan Competitive Exams Vertical is conducting a Screening Test known as "NAAN MUDHALVAN UPSC PRELIMS SCHOLARSHIP EXAM 2023" on 10.09.2023 to shortlist 1000 Candidates to provide the monthly scholarship of Rs. 7,500 for the students preparing for the upcoming CSE Prelims 2024 which is going to be held on 26.05.2024.

Further, out of the 1000 candidates to be shortlisted for the monthly scholarship programme, 50 candidates shall be freshers (A candidate who gives first attempt and must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 22 years on the 1st of August 2024). As this Scholarship Exam is conducted in coordination with the All-India Civil Service Coaching Centre, which functions under the Anna Administrative Staff

College, separate Entrance Test will not be conducted by the All-India Civil Service Coaching Centre for admission to All-India Civil Service Coaching Centre, Chennai and Anna Centenary Civil Services Coaching Academies, Coimbatore and Madurai.

Therefore, the score card of "NAAN MUDHALVAN UPSC PRELIMS SCHOLARSHIP EXAM" will also be used for shortlisting 225 Aspirants for Full-Time residential programme, 100 Aspirants for Part-Time training programme of All India Civil Services Coaching Center, R A Puram, Chennai and 100 Aspirants each for Full- Time residential programme of the Anna

Centenary Civil Services Coaching Academies, Coimbatore and Madurai. For admission to this training programme, the candidates should choose the respective options in the Application itself. No individual requests from the candidates for change of venue of the training programme will be considered.

Educational Qualification

Minimum Educational Qualification: The Candidate must hold a degree of

any recognized University in India.

Age Eligibility (As On 01.08.2024):

For Freshers (50 seats):

Minimum - 21 years

Maximum - 22 Years *

*(Age Relaxation is applicable for the candidates who are graduated in Medicine,

Integrated course, Veterinary Science etc., subject to submission of relevant proof during Certificate Verification. TNSDC is the final deciding authority regarding the age

relaxation.)

For Regular (950 seats):

Minimum - 21 years

Maximum - As given below

1. SC/ST/SC (A) candidate should not be above 37 Years of age.

2. Differently Abled candidate from any community should not be above 42

Years.

3. BC/BC (M) / MBC/DNC candidates should not be above 35 Years.

4. General candidates should not be above 32 Years.
