No Re-Exam For Class 10 Mathematics: HRD Secretary

A major relief to students! After announcing the re-conduct of class 10 mathematics (Code 041) on Saturday, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reverted their decision about conducting the examination in the states of Delhi NCR and Haryana.

In the press statement released by the CBSE on Saturday mentioned that the re-examination will be conducted for the class 10 mathematics, which was restricted only to Delhi NCR and Haryana. It also stated that after a detailed inquiry, if it is found necessary to conduct a re-examination, then it would be held in July, 2018. However,the total move was scrapped.

Anil Swarup, Human Resource and Develop Ministry Secretary, has recently tweeted that there will be no re-exam for class 10 mathematics.

He tweeted, "consequent to the preliminary evaluation of the impact of reportedly leaked CBSE class 10 maths paper & keeping in mind the paramount interest of students, CBSE has decided not to conduct re-examination even in the states of Delhi NCR and Haryana. Hence, no re-exam for class 10."

The CBSE has announced the re-conduct of class 10 mathematics and class 12 economics exams after the question paper leaking hours before the exam. The CBSE has referred to the Delhi Police for a detailed investigation. However, there is no update from the CBSE on the class 12 economics paper.

The question paper leak has affected over 2.2 Million students, out of which, around 5 Lakh candidates will take the class 12 economics on April 25, 2018.
