In a recent announcement, UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar confirmed that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-UG for the academic year 2024 will be held from May 15 to May 31, aligning with the previously stated schedule. This decision comes despite the overlap with the Lok Sabha election, set to commence in seven phases from April 19.UGC Chairman has cleared that there will be no change in CUET-UG entrance exam dates.

As you know that, the aspiring candidates have until March 26 to complete their registration for CUET-UG, a gateway to undergraduate programs across a myriad of educational institutions in India.
Hybrid examination format
The CUET-UG plays a pivotal role in standardizing admissions to a wide spectrum of universities, including central, state, deemed, and private institutions. For 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) introduces a novel hybrid examination format. This format comprises Computer Based Testing (CBT) alongside traditional pen-and-paper methods for certain subjects, contingent upon the volume of registrations and subject-specific requirements. Optical mark recognition (OMR) sheets will be utilized for subjects with a higher number of applicants, whereas others will continue with the computer-based approach.
Last year, CUET-UG witnessed a staggering 14.9 lakh registrations, underscoring its significance in the educational domain. The NTA, based on the total number of applicants and their geographical distribution, will release a detailed date sheet for CUET-UG 2024 between May 15 and May 31. This structured approach ensures a seamless examination process for candidates across the country, irrespective of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
The introduction of a hybrid exam format by the NTA is a significant adaptation, aiming to accommodate the diverse needs and preferences of candidates. This decision further exemplifies the authorities' commitment to providing a flexible and accessible testing environment. As the registration window narrows, students are encouraged to complete their application process promptly to secure their chance at pursuing higher education in some of India's most prestigious universities.
With the CUET-UG serving as a critical juncture for many aspiring undergraduates, its execution amidst the national elections demonstrates the concerted effort to uphold educational advancements. As the examination dates draw near, students are advised to prepare diligently, leveraging the opportunity to step into the next phase of their academic journey.
