NLSIU Research Fellowship 2027: Applications Open for 20 Positions with Remuneration Up to ₹2 Lakh

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru has invited applications for its Research Fellowship Programmes for the January 2027 intake. The fellowships are being offered on a contract basis across three categories, with a total of 20 positions available.

NLSIU Research Fellowship 2027 Eligibility

For the Graduate Research Fellowship, candidates should have a graduate degree in law or a postgraduate degree in social sciences, public policy or allied disciplines. The programme is intended for recent graduates and young scholars, and prior work experience is not mandatory. Candidates currently pursuing a qualifying degree may also apply subject to completing the degree before joining.

Applicants for the NLSIU Postdoctoral Fellowship should have been awarded a PhD in law, social sciences, public policy or an allied discipline within the prescribed three-year period. Candidates who have previously held a postdoctoral position at a university or research institution are not eligible.

For the University Research Fellowship, candidates must hold a recognised PhD and have at least 10 years of teaching experience, along with a demonstrable record of academic publications.

The fellowship programme supports research in law, social sciences, public policy and cognate disciplines. NLSIU welcomes both interdisciplinary and discipline-specific research and aims to build an active research community involving faculty, fellows and researchers.
