The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela has concluded its 2025-26 placement drive, recording strong placement outcomes across its undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. A total of 1,340 placement offers were made during the recruitment season, along with 364 six-month internship offers that could potentially lead to Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs).

More than 83 students secured annual packages exceeding ₹30 lakh, highlighting the strong demand for NIT Rourkela graduates across technology, engineering, manufacturing, finance and other sectors.
The BTech programme recorded the highest package of ₹1.31 crore per annum during the 2025-26 placement season. The highest package among Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) students stood at ₹83.60 lakh per annum.
The BTech programme recorded an average CTC of ₹15.33 lakh, while the median CTC stood at ₹12.50 lakh.
These figures reflect the overall placement performance of BTech students across different engineering disciplines and recruiters.
The MTech programme also recorded notable placement packages. The highest CTC for MTech students was ₹46.38 lakh, offered to a student from the Computer Science and Engineering branch.
The second-highest MTech package was ₹44 lakh, secured by a student from Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The MTech programme recorded an average CTC of ₹11.90 lakh, while the median CTC was ₹9 lakh.
One of the key highlights of the NIT Rourkela placement season was that more than 83 students received annual compensation packages above ₹30 lakh.
The placement results demonstrate the performance of students across multiple academic programmes and indicate continued recruiter interest in NIT Rourkela talent.
The 2025-26 placement drive witnessed participation from 374 recruiters. Around 50% of the participating companies were first-time recruiters, expanding the range of employment opportunities available to students.
The Software and IT Services sector accounted for a significant share of recruiter participation. Other prominent sectors included Manufacturing, BFSI, Electronics and Education.
The diverse recruiter base provided students with opportunities across technical, engineering, consulting, finance and other professional roles.

The internship opportunities further strengthen the institute's industry-academia connection and provide students with practical experience before graduation.
