The National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT Rourkela) has introduced a new BTech programme in Artificial Intelligence. This four-year course, offered by the computer science and engineering department, aims to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in AI.

Candidates can enrol in the programme through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) registration. Interested candidates must complete their registration and choice locking for JoSAA counselling by June 18, 5 PM. Registrations can be done on the official JoSAA website.
JoSAA Counselling Schedule
To participate in JoSAA counselling, candidates need their JEE Main 2024 application number and password. The first round of seat allocation results will be declared on June 20, at 10 AM. The initial seat allotment result will be available on June 15, at 8 PM, with the second round following on June 17. Subsequent rounds are scheduled for June 27, July 4, July 10, and July 17.
Last year's admissions at NIT Rourkela took place from August 16 to August 21, covering BTech, BArch, dual degree, and integrated MSc courses.

Established in 1961, NIT Rourkela has garnered notable rankings and achievements. In the NIRF ranking 2023, it holds the 37th position overall and 16th among engineering colleges in India. Additionally, the institution secured the 8th spot in the Architecture category.
Globally, NIT Rourkela achieved the 67th rank in Southern Asia in the QS World University Rankings 2023. These recognitions underscore the institute's commitment to academic excellence and innovation in education.
