The National Institute of Design (NID) has started the registration process for the NID Design Aptitude Test (NID DAT) 2027 for admission to design programmes for the 2027-28 academic session. Eligible candidates can apply for the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and the five-year Professional Education M.Des Integrated Pathway programmes through the official NID admissions portal.

The NID DAT is used for admission to the B.Des programme and the five-year Professional Education M.Des Integrated Pathway for the 2027-28 academic year.
The Professional Education M.Des Integrated Pathway is offered at NID campuses in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Gandhinagar. The programme includes 15 design disciplines grouped under five design streams.
The regular M.Des programme is separate from the integrated pathway and is a two-and-a-half-year programme offered at NID Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Gandhinagar.
The NID admission process begins with DAT Prelims. Candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination will be eligible to proceed to the DAT Mains stage.
