NID DAT 2023
The National Institute of Design (NID) will declare NID DAT 2023 application and exam dates online on their official portal. It is expected that the NID DAT application process will begin from the 1st week of October 2023. The NID Design Aptitude Test is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission of eligible candidates to BDes & MDes courses/programs offered by the participating institutes.
The NID Design Aptitude Test is conducted in two stages Preliminary exam & Mains exam. The NID DAT 2023 prelim exam is expected to be held in the first week of January 2023. All interested & eligible candidates should fill out the NID DAT application form before the last date to avoid any confusion. NID DAT 2023: Eligibility Criteria
All candidates must fulfill the NID DAT eligibility criteria of both age and education qualification of the course they are applying for. Check the detailed eligibility criteria below
Bachelor of Design (B.Des.)
Age Limit:
General Category and General EWS Category: Candidates born on or after 1 July 2003.
Age Relaxation
OBCNCL, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST): 3 years
PwD Reserved Category: 5 years
Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed or will appear for higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations from any recognized board.
Master of Design (M.Des.)
Age Limit
General Category & General EWS Category: Candidates born on or after 1 July 1993
Age Relaxation
Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBCNCL), Scheduled Caste (SC) & Scheduled Tribe (ST): 3 years
A person with Disabilities (PwD) Reserved Category: 5 years
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's Degree of minimum 4-year duration in any specialization from any recognized University
NID DAT 2023: Application Process
The NID DAT application process is divided into the easy steps mentioned below
Step 1: Go to the official NID website.
Step 2: Click on the Register button
Step 3: Register yourself and log in with the required credentials.
Step 4: Enter your personal details, educational details, and work experience in the application.
Step 5: Now, upload documents like Photograph, Signature, Caste/PWD certificate, etc.
Step 6: Pay the application fee online and take the printout of the application form for future reference.

NID DAT 2023: Result
The NID DAT result will be declared soon on the official website. The final common merit lists will be generated category-wise (Open, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD), based on the sum total of the weighted scores obtained by the candidate in the DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.
NID DAT 2023: Seat Allotment
The NID DAT seat allotment for final admissions will be based on the merit list, category of the candidate and availability of seats, and other reservation benefits (if applicable). All the qualified candidates will be required to carry the requisite documents as per the schedule to the specified venue.
In case they fail to bring any required documents then it will lead to forfeiting the candidate's seat and their seat will be allotted to the next eligible candidate in the order of merit in their respective category.
