NEET UG Round 2 Seat Matrix 2026 Released, 659 New MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing Seats Added

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the NEET UG Round 2 Seat Matrix 2026 on September 4, 2026, giving candidates a clearer picture of the seats available for the second round of counselling. A total of 659 new seats have been added across MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing courses for the Round 2 counselling process.

According to the latest seat matrix, 12,283 seats have been included in the virtual vacancy list, while 11,302 seats are listed under the clear vacancy category.

The clear vacancy list represents seats that are currently vacant and available for allotment in Round 2. In contrast, virtual vacancies refer to seats occupied by candidates who have opted for an upgrade. These seats may become available if the candidates are allotted an upgraded seat during the next round.

Therefore, candidates should not consider every seat listed under virtual vacancies as immediately available. The final availability of such seats depends on the outcome of the Round 2 seat allotment.

NEET UG Round 2 Counselling 2026 Schedule

The NEET UG 2026 Round 2 registration process began on September 3, 2026, and candidates can complete their registration until September 11, 2026. Candidates participating in this round should complete registration and choice filling within the specified deadline.

The important schedule includes:

• Round 2 registration: September 3 to September 11, 2026
• Verification by MCC: September 7 to September 11, 2026
• Verification of joined candidates' data by State DMEs/State Counselling Authorities: September 19, 2026
• Verification of joined candidates' data by MCC for All India Quota, Deemed and Central Universities: September 19, 2026
• Commencement of academic session: September 15, 2026

Candidates should carefully enter and lock their preferred colleges and courses based on their rank, eligibility and the availability of seats.
