NEET UG Round 2 Counselling 2026: Registration Starts Tomorrow – Check Dates, Choice Filling, and Rules

NEET UG Round 2 opens tomorrow, September 3. MCC’s schedule confirms tight server-time windows. Registration runs September 3 to 8, while payment remains open till 6:00 PM on September 8. Choice filling opens September 3. Locking runs 4:00 PM, September 8 to 10:00 AM, September 9.

Allotment processing runs September 9 to 10, with results on September 11. Reporting and joining at institutes is scheduled September 12 to 18, followed by data verification on September 19. MCC has directed institutes to treat “all Saturdays/ Sundays and Gazetted Holidays as working days” during Round 2.

NEET UG Round 2: who must newly register, who can float or freeze

New registration in Round 2 is only for candidates who skipped Round 1. Those registered earlier, but not allotted, can participate without fresh registration. If allotted in Round 1, choose Freeze to keep the seat and physically report, or choose Float to seek upgradation with online joining.

NEET UG Round 2 choice filling and locking: exact server-time windows

Choice filling is available September 3 to 10:00 AM, September 9. Locking opens 4:00 PM, September 8 and ends 10:00 AM, September 9. Registration closes 3:00 PM, September 8; payment continues until 6:00 PM. After locking, download the Locked Choices letter showing IP, date and time. If OTP delays, select email OTP.

NEET UG Round 2 resignation and upgrade rules before allotment

Resignation for Round 1 joinees is open only until 1:00 PM, September 2. Freeze candidates must resign physically at their institute from 2:00 PM, August 31 to 1:00 PM, September 2. Float candidates may resign online from 3:30 PM, August 31 to 1:00 PM, September 2, without forfeiting security deposit.

NEET UG Round 2 documents and certificate formats

Keep ready the MCC allotment letter, NEET admit card, rank letter, Class 10 certificate, Class 12 marksheet, photo identity, recent photographs, and applicable category documents. Use official formats for SC, ST, OBC-NCL and EWS certificates. Upload PDFs only, not password protected, each sized 20 KB to 500 KB.

If payment fails, verify status on the dashboard before retrying; choice filling starts only after fee payment. Use the email OTP option when SMS lags. Always lock early and download the Locked Choices letter as proof. With results on September 11 and joining till September 18, act within the server-time windows.
