NEET UG Result 2024 Out: Know website to check the result

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024. Aspiring medical students who took the exam can now check their results on the official website - exams.nta.ac.in. The admissions for the 15 percent All India Quota will be governed by the rank and statutory regulations of the Medical Council of India (MCI), National Medical Commission (NMC), and Dental Council of India (DCI).

How to Check NEET UG Result 2024?

Students who participated in the NEET 2024 examination conducted by the NTA can download their scorecards from the official website by following the instructions below:

• Visit the Official Website: Go to the official site - exams.nta.ac.in/NEET.
• Access the Result Link: On the home page, locate and click on the link for NEET UG Result 2024.
• Enter Login Details: After clicking the Result link, a login interface will appear. Enter your Roll Number, Date of Birth, and the security PIN/Captcha code.
• Submit and View Result: Click the submit button. Your result will be displayed on the screen.
• Print Your Result: Review your result and print a copy for future reference.

Attendance and Participation

This year witnessed a remarkable turnout with 9,96,393 male candidates, 13,31,321 female candidates, and 17 transgender candidates appearing for the NEET UG exam. The overall attendance was an impressive 96.94 percent. Breakdown by gender shows that male candidates had an attendance rate of 96.92 percent, female candidates 96.96 percent, and transgender candidates 94.44 percent.

Answer Key and Merit List

Provisional answer keys were released on May 29, giving candidates until May 31 to raise any objections. Based on the objections received, the NTA finalized the answer key, which is now the basis for the NEET UG 2024 results. The NTA will prepare an all-India merit list considering the cutoff and the marks secured by the candidates. Those who score above the cutoff will be eligible for the 15 percent All India Quota counselling. Individual states will manage counselling for the remaining 85 percent of the seats.

The NEET UG 2024 results rely on the finalized answer key. Last year's cutoff percentile for MBBS and BDS candidates was 50 for the general category and 40 for OBC, SC, and ST candidates. The cutoff percentile for NEET UG 2024 will similarly be based on the highest marks achieved in the all-India common merit list.

Scoring System and Toppers

The scoring system for NEET UG awards four marks for each correct answer, deducts one mark for each incorrect answer, and gives zero marks for unanswered questions. Last year, the top scorers were Prabanjan J from Tamil Nadu and Bora Varun Chakravarthi from Andhra Pradesh, each achieving a 99.99 percentile. In 2023, out of 20.38 lakh registered candidates, 11.45 lakh qualified.

NEET Merit List & Counselling Process 2024

Following the announcement of the results on the official website on June 4, 2024, the admission process for various medical colleges and institutions across the country will commence based on the merit list. The authority will compile this merit list, including students' names based on their ranks and scores.
