NEET UG Counselling 2026: MCC Revises Round 1 Result Date to August 21

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has revised the schedule for NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1, with the seat allotment result now scheduled to be announced on August 21, 2026. The revised schedule was issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on August 19, 2026.

The counselling covers admissions through the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) and 100% of seats in Deemed Universities, Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER and AFMC institutions for MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing programmes.

NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 Revised Schedule

As per the revised timeline, processing of the Round 1 seat allotment will take place on August 19 and 20, 2026. The result will subsequently be published on August 21, 2026.

Candidates who receive a seat in Round 1 must complete the reporting and joining process within the prescribed period.

The revised dates make it important for candidates to regularly check the MCC counselling portal and be prepared to complete admission formalities immediately after the allotment result is announced.

NEET UG Counselling 2026 Registration and Choice Filling

The Round 1 registration and payment window was scheduled from August 5 to August 15, 2026. Registration closed at 3:00 PM, while the payment facility remained available until 5:00 PM on August 15, as per server time.

Choice filling started on August 6 and continued until 11:59 PM on August 18, 2026. Candidates were required to enter and arrange their preferred colleges and courses carefully before the deadline.

The choice-locking facility started at 5:30 PM on August 17 and remained available until 11:59 PM on August 18.

NEET UG Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2026

The Round 1 seat allotment will be processed on August 19 and 20, followed by publication of the result on August 21.

Candidates should check their allotment status after the result is released. Those who are allotted seats will need to follow MCC's instructions regarding acceptance, reporting and joining.

The last date for joining a Round 1 allotted seat is August 31, 2026. Candidates should complete the required admission formalities within this deadline to avoid losing the allotted seat.

NEET UG Counselling 2026 Admission and Verification

The revised schedule also specifies timelines for verification of candidates who join their allotted institutions.

For the All India Quota, Deemed Universities and Central Universities, the Round 1 admission schedule is listed from August 4 to August 21, 2026, while the final joining deadline is August 31.

For State counselling, the Round 1 admission schedule is also listed from August 4 to August 21. Verification of joined candidates' data by State Directorate of Medical Education (DME) and State Counselling Authorities is scheduled from August 13 to August 27, 2026.

MCC will verify the data of joined candidates on September 1, 2026, while verification by state authorities is scheduled for September 6, 2026.

NEET UG Counselling 2026: What Candidates Should Do

Candidates awaiting the Round 1 result should keep their admission documents ready and monitor the official MCC portal for the allotment result.

Those who receive a seat should carefully check the allotted college, course and category details and follow the instructions for reporting. Candidates must complete the joining process within the prescribed period and submit the required documents and fees to the allotted institution.
