The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the final results for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2024 on Friday. This year, 17 students achieved the top rank with a perfect score of 720, translating to a pass percentile of 99.9992714. Initially, 67 students were tied for All India Rank 1, but this number decreased following the withdrawal of grace marks and a retest for 1,563 students.

A decision rendered by the Supreme Court resulted in the cancellation of grace marks for a wrong Physics question, which caused several rankers to lose their Rank 1 position. About 24,06,079 individuals registered for this year's NEET UG exam; 23,33,297 of them showed up to take the test, while 72,782 did not.
The majority of top scorers hail from Rajasthan and Maharashtra, with the top four ranks held by students from Rajasthan and the next three by students from Maharashtra. Delhi and Uttar Pradesh each produced two toppers, while Bihar, Punjab, West Bengal, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala each had one topper.
A significant number of candidates, nearly 11,65,334, scored between 720 and 162 marks. Of those registered for NEET UG this year, 10,29,198 were male students, 13,76,863 were female students, and there were 18 third-gender registrations.
Among male registrants, approximately 9,98,205 appeared for the exam, with around 5,46,566 qualifying. For female candidates, about 13,34,940 appeared, and nearly 7,69,277 qualified. Among third-gender registrants, 17 appeared for the exam, and 10 qualified.
The majority of registrations were for the English language mode, with approximately 18,92,413 candidates choosing it. Hindi was the second most popular language mode, with around 3,57,924 registrations.
