NEET UG 2024 Registration for Round 2 Counselling Begins: Important Dates, Fees, and Process
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially opened registration for the second round of NEET UG 2024 counseling. This round is essential for students seeking admission into MBBS and BDS programs across various medical and dental colleges under the All India Quota (AIQ). For candidates who missed out on securing a seat in the first round, or those who did not report to their allotted institution, this is another opportunity to apply.
However, candidates who participated in the first round but were not allotted a seat or did not report to their assigned institution do not need to re-register. New applicants must complete the registration process, pay the necessary fees, and select their preferred colleges and courses.
Key Dates for NEET UG Counseling Round 2
- Choice Filling & Locking: September 6-10, 2024 (until 11:55 PM)
- Seat Allotment Processing: September 11-12, 2024
- Seat Allotment Result: September 13, 2024
- Reporting to Allotted Institutes: September 14-20, 2024
- Verification of Joined Candidates: September 21-22, 2024

Scope of Counseling
This round covers seats from a wide range of institutions, including:
- Central and deemed universities
- Private colleges
- Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS)
- Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) institutes
- AIIMS and JIPMER
The seats available are from various categories and include any leftover positions after the first round of NEET UG counseling. The registration deadline is September 10, 2024, and candidates are encouraged to visit the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in to complete their registration before this date.
Steps to Apply for NEET UG Counseling Round 2
To ensure a smooth application process, follow these steps:
- Visit the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in.
- Click on the link for NEET UG Counseling 2024 Round 2 registration.
- Enter the required registration details and submit.
- Log in to your account.
- Complete the application form and pay the required fee.
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page.
- Keep a printed copy for future reference.
Fee Structure for Different Categories
Deemed Universities:
- ₹5000 (non-refundable registration fee)
- ₹2,00,000 (refundable security deposit)
- 15% AIQ/Central Universities/AFMC/ESI/AIIMS/JIPMER/B.Sc. Nursing:
- UR/EWS Candidates: ₹100 (non-refundable fee) and ₹10,000 (refundable deposit)
- SC/ST/OBC/PwD Candidates: ₹500 (non-refundable fee) and ₹5000 (refundable deposit)
Counseling and Seat Allotment Process
The seat allotment process will take place on September 11 and 12, 2024, with results announced on September 13. Candidates who are allotted seats must report to their respective institutions between September 14 and 20. Verification of the data of the joined candidates by the institutes will be conducted from September 21 to 22, 2024, with details submitted to MCC for final validation.
If any seats remain vacant after the second round of counseling, a stray round may be conducted to fill the remaining positions. This ensures that as many seats as possible are filled efficiently and fairly, providing more opportunities for students.
