NEET PG 2026: 2.73 Lakh Candidates Registered; NBEMS Implements Multi-Layered Security Plan
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will conduct the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2026 on August 30, 2026, with a record 2,73,183 candidates registered for the examination.
According to official figures, this marks an increase of more than 12.5% in registrations compared to the previous year, reflecting the growing number of medical graduates aspiring for postgraduate admissions.
NEET PG 2026: NBEMS Introduces Multi-Layered Security Measures
The examination will be held in a single shift across around 340 cities at more than 1,300 examination centres nationwide. NBEMS has expanded the number of test centres to make the examination more accessible and ensure smoother conduct for candidates across India.
Health Minister Reviews NEET PG 2026 Preparedness
Ahead of the examination, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda reviewed the preparations for NEET PG 2026 to ensure a transparent, secure, and technology-driven examination process.
During the review meeting, officials briefed the minister on examination logistics, security arrangements, candidate facilitation measures, and the advanced technology systems being used to safeguard the examination process. The review focused on ensuring that candidates experience a fair and hassle-free examination environment.
Multi-Layered Security Architecture
NBEMS has implemented an extensive multi-layered security framework for NEET PG 2026. According to official information, the question paper will be generated and selected through a highly encrypted, secure, and time-sensitive digital process shortly before the examination begins.
Multiple technological safeguards have been incorporated to prevent any unauthorised access to examination content. Officials have emphasised that the confidentiality of the question paper is maintained until the scheduled commencement of the examination through several operational and digital security measures.
Candidates Warned Against Rumours
The Health Minister urged candidates to remain cautious of rumours, misinformation, and fraudulent claims circulating on social media or other platforms regarding alleged access to the NEET PG question paper.
He clarified that any claim of prior access to the question paper is completely false due to the secure digital process adopted by NBEMS. Aspirants have been advised to depend only on official notifications released by NBEMS and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for authentic updates.
Candidates have also been requested to immediately report any suspicious activity, misleading messages, or attempts to promote unfair practices to the concerned authorities.
Examination Day Guidelines
Candidates appearing for NEET PG 2026 should carefully follow the instructions mentioned on their admit cards. They are advised to reach the examination centre well before the reporting time, carry valid identity proof along with the admit card, and avoid bringing prohibited items such as electronic gadgets or study materials.
With over 2.73 lakh candidates, expanded examination centres, and strengthened security protocols, NBEMS aims to conduct NEET PG 2026 in a fair, transparent, and secure manner while ensuring equal opportunities for all medical aspirants.
