Two suspects, Baldev Kumar alias Chintu Kumar and Mukesh Kumar, have been apprehended by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for questioning regarding the NEET question paper leak. A special court has approved a seven-day remand for the interrogation of the accused. Both individuals were arrested in Deoghar, Jharkhand.

Remand Granted for Further Interrogation:
The CBI sought remand from the court to interrogate the two accused further. After hearing the CBI's request, the court granted remand from June 27 to July 4. On June 25, the CBI submitted a copy of the FIR to the special court in Patna and sought remand for those arrested by the Economic Offences Unit (EOU). The EOU had previously submitted an 80-page FIR to the CBI and a report of about 2,000 pages.
Bail Petitions Withdrawn:
As the EOU handed over the case to the CBI, two bail petitions filed by the accused were withdrawn by ADJ-5, Patna. On June 5, the court also stayed the arrest of the main accused Sanjeev Mukhiya alias Sanjeev Kumar, who remains at large. Senior advocate Krishna Deo Mishra explained that although Sanjeev Kumar's anticipatory bail was filed on June 4 and transferred to ADJ-5 for a hearing on June 5, it would not be enforced in the CBI case as it is considered a separate matter.
The police are working diligently to uncover the extent of the alleged leak and ensure that those responsible are held accountable. The authorities are committed to maintaining the integrity of the NEET examination process and ensuring that all students have a fair and equal opportunity to succeed based on their merit. As the investigation progresses, the focus remains on gathering evidence and conducting thorough interviews to piece together the full picture of the incident. The authorities are determined to take swift and appropriate action to address any wrongdoing and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
