NEET 2017: Delay in Seat Allocation- Students in Despair

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has notified that after midnight yesterday there wouldn't be any acceptance of choices put forth by the candidates.

The counseling for the same is scheduled for the coming week. The notification said " Choice Filling and Locking Facility is Extended till 11:59PM 12th July, 2017. Choices will be locked by MCC Server automatically by 11:59PM 12.07.2017."

The candidates who clear this allotment will be able to get admission into medical and dental courses across the country. Only 15 per cent of the seats are reserved for the overall quota, with the rest being under the state quota and the other reserved categories.

Twenty days after the announcement of the NEET results, the state wise marks are yet to be out. Tamil Nadu being an example, where the students have no idea as to what their postion is in the cut off list, among the 32, 570 students who qualified.

The Central Board of Secondary examination has still not published any specifics. The counseling is scheduled to begin by July 17, 2017 and thus has become a source of stress and anxiety for the candidates. With MCC further locking the allotment process, students are left in uncertainity.

The National Eligibility and Entrance Test was conducted on May 7, 2017. After Supreme court's stay on the interim order on June 12, 2017, the results were finally declared on June 23, 2017.
