The University of Mysore has postponed the Ph.D entrance exam for 10 Arts subjects, for the session 2013-14. After Ph.D candidates found question paper printed in English only.
Some of the Ph.D students protested at Maharani Arts and Commerce College, Mysore, demanded for question paper to be printed in Kannada also.
Later, University officials decided to postpone the examination. The other subject examinations were held smoothly.
University had conducted the exam on 15th December 2013, some students found that the question paper is not printed in Kannada.
The next examination date will be announced very soon, after consulting the University Grants Commission (UGC).
Mysore University, Registrar, C Basavaraju said, "The re-scheduled examination dates will be held in about 15 to 20 days."
The results of the examination will be announced together.
The University is set to conduct Ph.D entrance examination in 70 subjects for admission to Doctoral degree programmes.
