Two students of B.Tech were arrested for bringing the Munnabhai movie's actions into a reality at Mahatma Gandhi Information Technology College, Kokapet on Wednesday. The two were attending the semester exam to have their backlogs cleared. They had with them a spy camera, pens that held microphones and bluetooth enabled mobile phone during the exam. These things were being used to send questions and to receive answers from a friend sitting at home.
The accused are residents of Dabeerpura and Shadan College's students. Their friend who abetted is absconding.
"Kabeer and Moinuddin used a spy camera, pens fitted with microphones, and mobile phones. When an invigilator frisked the two, he found mobile phones in their undergarments and the other equipment being used by them. Murtuza, who was sitting at home with a laptop, dictated the answers to them," said Mohammed Hafeezuddin, sub inspector.
The devices were bought online by the students, "We also found that the students had bribed the college staff in order to enter the examination hall, armed with gadgets," he said.
A case under Section 420 (cheating) and the AP Public Examinations Act 1997, has been registered by the police against the two.
They were remanded in judicial custody in a local court. This was the third time that such an incident has occurred at the college.
